Mercer Health aims to support all community members in improving or maintaining their health and wellness with free tools, education and resources throughout the year by offering the first annual Healthy Community Series – a series of targeted health and wellness events focusing on different areas of health and wellness. Each event will include free screenings, information and resources.
The series will kick off on February 27 with a Heart Health Event from 7:00 – 9:00 a.m. at Mercer Health Medical Group at Ft. Recovery. Free lipid panels (12-14 hour fast recommended), blood pressure checks and heart health information will be available.
The full series includes:
- Heart Health Event – February 27
- Spring Healthy Community Day – April 4
- Women’s Health Event – May 7
- Mercer County Fair – August 14-20
- Men’s Health Event – September 17
- Fall Healthy Community Day & Healthy Kids Day – October 24
Other opportunities for free wellness screenings, including but not limited to height, weight, BMI and body composition, blood pressure, blood sugar and osteoporosis will be available at the Center for Healthy Weight & Wellness on the third Wednesday of every month from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
In addition to the Healthy Community Series, Mercer Health will continue to offer our regularly scheduled educational series and support groups through the Center for Healthy Weight & Wellness and the Childbirth Center.
