The Job Shadowing program at Mercer Health allows high school or college students with specific interests to observe in a variety of departments throughout the organization on a short-term basis, including in both clinical and non-clinical settings.

Summer Internship & Exploration Program

Mercer Health’s Medical Staff offers a summer internship and exploration program for college students who are considering applying for medical school and have completed at least two years of college by the time the programs begins. The program, which takes place annually in June, is an opportunity for students to learn from local physicians and help students make an informed decision about applying for medical school.

Project SEARCH

Since 2021, Mercer Health has been a proud part of Project SEARCH. In partnership with the Mercer County Educational Service Center (ESC), the goal of the program is to prepare young adults with disabilities for success in competitive, integrated employment.

Project SEARCH is a post-grad transition program for young adults students that provides real-life work experience combined with training in employability and independent living skills to help youth make a successful transition from school to productive adult life. Each student will participate in three internships in different departments at Mercer Health. This is a year-long program.The program involves an extensive period of training and career exploration, long-term job coaching and continuous feedback from the teacher, job coach, and Mercer Health mentors. The ultimate goal for each student is to be placed in a job at a business site in the community.
