Supporting Local Students and Bringing Quality Providers Home
The goal of the Scholarship Programs at Mercer Health is to support local students who are pursuing degrees in the medical field and ease their financial burden. The hope is that these students will return to their hometowns to provide quality healthcare right here where their roots are, allowing our medical community to continue to thrive and flourish.
MED Foundation Scholarship Program
The MED Foundation Scholarship Program was created to support the selection of careers in the healthcare profession by offering scholarships to graduating seniors from each of the six Mercer County schools interested in improving the health of the citizens in Mercer County and the surrounding area.
The MED Foundation’s Board of Directors has made a commitment to provide at least one scholarship to a graduate from each of the schools in Mercer County who are pursuing an education in healthcare. All scholarship applicants must live in Mercer County or attend high school in Mercer County. Scholarships will be awarded based upon evaluation and assessments to meet future healthcare needs.
The Scholarship Program is funded by the Esmonde/Homan Golf Outing held annually on the second Friday in June. Due to the success of the Golf Outing in recent years, the MED Foundation has been able to provide additional scholarships to even more local students. Applications are due annually by February 15.

Mercer Health Medical Student Scholarship Program
The Mercer Health Medical Student Scholarship program was created in 2020 by the Medical Staff of Mercer Health to support medical students from Mercer County and surrounding counties, as well as medical students who have participated in rotations at Mercer Health, by offering scholarships to those individuals.
The Mercer Health Medical Student Scholarship Committee will award $2,000 to a medical school student who has shown a strong connection to Mercer Health or the surrounding communities. Applications are due annually by October 1.

Mercer Health Volunteer Association Scholarship
The Mercer Health Volunteer Association also offers a scholarship opportunity for current or past Mercer Health volunteers or a current employee of Mercer Health who are furthering their education in any employable profession represented within the Mercer Health organization.
