Mercer Health's visiting hours have recently changed as a result of our response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Current visiting hours are:

Hospital Visiting Hours
7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Maternity Visiting Hours
9 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Visitor Guidelines

  • Visitors are encouraged to stay in the room with the patient when possible.
  • No visitors under the age of 18.
  • Visitors will be required to wear a mask at all times.
  • No visitors are allowed in the hospital from 6 p.m. – 7 a.m. overnight, unless a support person is accompanying a maternity patient.

Visitor Restrictions

  • Patients with Confirmed or Suspected COVID-19: No visitors allowed at this time.
  • ICU & Acute Care Units: (1) adult visitor per day.
  • Pediatrics: (2) adult visitors allowed for the duration of stay.
  • Surgery: (1) adult visitor/support person allowed.
  • Child Birth Center: (1) support person allowed for the duration of stay.
  • Emergency Department: (1) support person allowed for the duration of the stay.
  • Outpatient Services: (1) support person allowed in departments with the ability to room immediately. Examples include: OPC, OB Ultrasound, Urgent Care, DMC, The Center for Healthy Weight & Wellness, etc. This does not include Lab, Radiology, or Therapy.
  • Patient Facing End-of-Life: 1 visitor allowed. Clergy is also permitted after proper screening.
  • Patients with significant disabilities: (1) support person.

Visitor Screening

  • All visitors to the hospital will be subject to screening for symptoms and international travel or known exposure history.
  • Visitors will be asked to leave the facility if they have had symptoms of the seasonal flu or COVID-19, such as shortness of breath, cough, fever, chills, loss of sense of smell/taste, headache, vomiting, sore throat, muscle aches or diarrhea, in the past 48 hours, known exposures in the last 14 days, or are currently under quarantine for teting positive for COVID-19 themselves.
  • If the visitor is a driver for a patient receiving services in a department that is still restricted (Lab, Radiology, Therapy, etc.), they will be asked to wait in their car until the patient’s appointment is completed.
  • Visitors must wash their hands, or use hand sanitizer, before and after leaving rooms and hospital buildings.
  • Inpatient Visitors MUST enter :
    • On the West side of the hospital by using Entrance #3: West Entrance or Entrance #2: South Entrance, and will be stopped near the West Registration for screening.
    • On the East side of the hospital by using Entrance #1: Emergency Department Entrance, and will be stopped at registration for screening.
  • These entrances at the hospital remain closed to the public:
    • Entrance #4: The Cedar Table Entrance
