This program allows high school or college students with specific interests to observe in a variety of departments throughout the organization on a short-term basis, including both clinical and non-clinical settings.

You are not to discuss what you see or hear during your shadowing experience with anyone. This is trusted, private information. In addition, cell phones are NOT ALLOWED in any patient areas. You CANNOT have your cell phones out or take pictures in any patient care area. If you have your cell phone out, you will be asked to leave immediately.
There are several different departments that you may choose to job shadow. Below are listed some of the departments available for job shadowing. If you are interested in a department that is not listed, please do not hesitate to call and ask if that area is available for job shadowing.

Mercer Health’s Medical Staff is again offering a summer internship and exploration program for college students who are considering applying for medical school and have completed at least two years of college by the time the programs begins. The program, which will take place in June, will be an opportunity for students to learn from local physicians and help students make an informed decision about applying for medical school. Applications are due by March 1, 2025 and should be sent to myhealth@mercer-health.com.
