Buffy Froning, PMHNP (Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner) is originally from St. Henry, OH and joined Mercer Health Medical Group Mental Wellness in November 2023. Prior to obtaining her Master’s as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Buffy worked at Mercer Health as a nurse in Acute Care, Surgery, Information Technology, Urgent Care and Obstetrics. Buffy states that although she loved her previous roles as a nurse, she looks forward to helping provide a much needed service in the community.

Buffy will often be accompanied by Ripsi, a therapy dog specially trained to comfort anxious and depressed patients. In her free time Buffy enjoys training her dogs, reading, starting a new golf hobby and spending time with her family, especially her twin grandbabies.

Buffy collaborates with Mercer Health Medical Group primary care providers to offer integrated mental health services. Patients must be established with a Mercer Health Medical Group physician and referred to the Medical Group Mental Wellness office.
