Mercer Health’s MED Foundation Awards 18 Scholarships

The Medical, Educational and Development Foundation of Mercer Health (commonly known as the MED Foundation) was created in 1988 with the mission to cultivate philanthropic relationships that enhance Mercer Health’s ability to fulfill its mission and vision.   In 1992, the MED Foundation Scholarship Program was created to help support the selection of careers in the healthcare profession by offering scholarships to graduating seniors from each of the Mercer County schools who are pursuing an education in healthcare. Based upon qualified candidates, at least one (1) scholarship is awarded to a student from each of the six (6) high schools in Mercer County. Scholarships are awarded based on evaluation and assessments to meet future healthcare needs.

The Scholarship Program is funded by the Esmonde- Homan Golf Outing held annually in June. Due to the success of the Golf Outing in recent years, the MED Foundation has been able to provide additional scholarships to even more local students.

This year, The MED Foundation is awarding 18 scholarships totaling $18,250.00. Since the inception of the Scholarship Program in 1992, as of this year, 309 scholarships have been awarded totaling $328,200.00.
