MED Foundation honors 2022 Outstanding Friend of the Year at annual Friends of the Foundation event

The Medical, Educational and Development (MED) Foundation of Mercer Health awarded the Mercer County Elks the 2022 Outstanding Friends of the Year award at the annual Friends of the MED Foundation dinner on January 29, 2023.

“This year marks the 30th MED Foundation Golf Outing held at the Mercer County Elks Golf Club in support of our scholarship program,” Deb Hemmelgarn, Director of the MED Foundation and Volunteer Services, said. “I appreciate the entire staff at the Elks and especially Kirk Stucke, the general manager. Kirk is extremely helpful with hosting our golf outing and is instrumental ensuring it is successful year after year.”

After dinner, John Yoder, President of the MED Foundation Board of Directors, also shared an overview of the activities of the MED Foundation over the past year including the Charity Ball, the Golf Outing, the scholarships awarded from funds generated at the golf outing and the growth of the foundation over the past year.

Lisa Klenke, Mercer Health CEO, provided an organization update. Michelle McClurg was the feature speaker who shared a message on the benefits of supportive friends, community, and life lessons she has learned along the way.
