Dr. Ed Hosbach receives Ohio ACOFP Distinguished Service Award

Dr. Edward Hosbach II, a primary care provider in Ft. Recovery and St. Henry since 1989, recently received, the Ohio ACOFP (American College of Osteopathic Family Physicians) Distinguished Service Award.  Dr. Jonathan Winner recognized the significant impact Dr. Hosbach has made and nominated him for this award which recognizes osteopathic family physicians for their outstanding accomplishments and honors the dedication to their practices.

Dr. Winner said of Dr. Hosbach in his nomination, “In addition to splitting his time between two offices in Ft. Recovery and St. Henry, he has spent decades admitting and caring for his hospitalized patients, providing newborn care in the hospital’s nursery, covering urgent care shifts, and caring for his patients in area skilled nursing facilities. He has represented the hospital’s medical staff in many capacities, most notably serving several terms as Chief of Staff.  Dr. Hosbach has been loyal to his practice, Mercer Health Community Hospital, and all patients he has served over the years.”

Besides his own practices, Dr. Hosbach has served as Chief Medical Officer for EverHeart Hospice, team doctor for Fort Recovery and St. Henry high schools, and a board member for the Mercer County Health District. Dr. Winner goes on to mention, “Beyond West Central Ohio, Dr. Hosbach has also represented the osteopathic profession at the state and national levels. For years he returned to his alma mater in Athens to provide OMT training sessions for medical students. He is an active member and past president (2016-2017) of the Ohio ACOFP. He served 15 years on the ACOFP Congress of Delegates and for 13 years he was an instructor for joint injection workshops at the ACOFP annual convention.  Dr. Hosbach has, without a doubt, earned the Ohio ACOFP Distinguished Service Award to the fullest extent.” 

Dr. Hosbach is a primary care provider at Mercer Health Medical Group at Ft. Recovery and Mercer Health Medical Group at St. Henry.
