Full Time - Day Shift

Shift:               6:00am – 2:30pm

Status:             Full Time; 8 shifts per biweekly pay period

Weekends:      Rotation

Holidays:         Rotation

This position reports to the Director of Nutrition Services.

Qualifications / Experience:

  • One to three years’ experience in quantity food production in a hospital preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Preparing food items for cafeteria menus in the afternoon and evening serving times.
  • Sets up and serves the employees and visitors in the cafeteria during serving time.
  • Preps for next day meals as directed by supervisor.
  • Checks the temperature of foods being served to assure correct temperatures.
  • Cleaning of oven and assisting with cleaning in other areas.
  • Prepares and sets up tray line and transports carts to and from nursing units.
  • Cleaning of dishes and pans from cafeteria and serving lines.
  • Must be willing to learn other department related functions.

  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with individuals of all ages.
  • Ability to successfully manage a variety of tasks as well as multi tasks.
  • Ability to exercise good judgment.
  • Function productively in a team environment, and be able to work independently.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail.
  • Must be able to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds.
