This is support staff for our Physicians and Nurse Practitioners to work for our various MHMG Physician Office Practices on an as-needed basis. This position reports to the Physician Office Manager. This position reports to the Practice Manager.
Qualifications / Experience:
- Graduate of accredited School of Nursing/College of Nursing or Associates Degree in Medical Office Assistant required.
- Current Ohio RN or LPN licensure or Certification as a Medical Office Assistant required.
- PR/BLS certification, required within 90 days of hire.
- Physician Office experience, preferred.
- EPIC Electronic Medical Records experience preferred.
Responsibilities:
- Demonstrates ability to exercise effective clinical reasoning related to the assessment, care, delivery and evaluation of patients of all ages and in a variety of specialties.
- Demonstrates excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrates effective communication skills to facilitate patient knowledge and understanding.
- Effectively communicates with physicians, co-workers, patients, and families.
- Demonstrates effective problem solving skills in role and shows initiative to meet needs of provider, team members and patients without direction.
- Demonstrates competency with applicable policies and procedures as outlined in the Orientation Program prior to the completion of orientation.
- Required to become skilled in the EPIC Electronic Health Record System.
Skill/Ability:
- Ability to work independently and as a team player, to exercise good judgment and successfully manage a variety of tasks.
- Ability to think critically including interpretation, analysis, and evaluation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to prioritize care in handling various patient loads.
- Computer and keyboarding skills.
- Occasionally lifts and carries weights up to 50 pounds.
