Mercer Health will be hosting a Fall Health Fair to encourage local participants to “Know Your Numbers.” The event will take place at the Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater on two dates: Saturday, October 22 and Saturday, October 29, from 7:00 to 10:00 a.m. both days. The event will offer discounted labs and free health screenings. Appointments are required; participants can schedule an appointment directly at this link: https://cizigbsmeg.timetap.com.
“We recognize that the people of our community have very busy lives. Scheduled appointments will allow us to quickly get people in and out of the event and avoid any long lines,” said Stacy Schwieterman, Mercer Health Marketing & Outreach Assistant. “Our goal for these health fairs is to give the community a convenient and affordable opportunity to take control of their health by learning their numbers and ways to improve them. We hope that people will recognize the value of knowing their numbers and taking time to prioritize their health.”
Discounted labs that are being offered include lipid profile/cardiac risk screening ($20; 12 hour fast required), comprehensive metabolic health panel ($25; 12 hour fast required), complete blood count including anemia screening ($10), c-reactive protein ($20), hemoglobin A1C diabetes screening ($25), prostate (PSA) screening ($30), thyroid screening - TSH & free T4 ($40), and vitamin D screening ($35). Labs are self-pay and will not be ran through insurance. Payment is required at the time of service.
Free health screenings will also be offered including blood pressure, pulse ox and respiration, and a basic InBody Body Composition scan including weight, skeletal muscle mass, percent body fat, and extracellular water.
The Gift Shop at Mercer Health will also be holding their Grand Opening event from 7 to 11 a.m. both days with special deals, discounts, and refreshments.
