Groundbreaking ceremonies have been set for the West Wing Expansion project at Mercer Health’s Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater. Mindy Kremer, Senior Director of Development, Marketing and Community Relations states, “The original groundbreaking ceremonies for this organization, held on November 9, 1949, were a monumental event for the community with much pomp and circumstance. We are approaching another pivotal moment in the history of not only this organization but in our community. We invite the community to celebrate this occasion with us and be a part of history.”
In addition to groundbreaking ceremonies which will take place during a special ceremony at 1:30 p.m., information about the details of the project and refreshments will be available during the open house, which will be held on Sunday, September 25th from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m. on the West lawn at Mercer County Community Hospital, 800 W. Main St., Coldwater.
The West Wing Expansion and associated Building on a Promise capital campaign were announced in February 2016. Kremer states, “In order to continue to meet the healthcare needs of our community, an expansion project is necessary. The visionaries that made this organization a reality in 1950 made a vow to make quality healthcare available locally. We are building on that promise initiated by the forefathers of this organization.” For more information about the expansion and the Building on a Promise campaign, visit www.mercer-health.com.
