As part of the West Wing Expansion, Mercer Health enhanced the cafeteria and dining spaces at Mercer County Community Hospital in Coldwater.  In addition, the cafeteria and dining spaces have been renamed The Cedar Table.  Mercer Health staff submitted dozens of entries in a naming contest for the space.  The winning entry, The Cedar Table, was submitted by Julie Hemmelgarn, Director of Nutrition Services at Mercer Health.  Hemmelgarn indicated, “The Cedar Table is unique for a couple different reasons.  One of those reasons being our relationship to Cedar Street in Coldwater.  Also, the word Cedar is associated with healing and protection against disease.  Both reasons fit with our place in the community.”

The Cedar Table opens to the public beginning Thursday, November 15th.  Hemmelgarn states, “We are excited to welcome the community back to dine at  Mercer Health and to enjoy the enhancements of dining services included at The Cedar Table.  We are now able to offer a sprawling salad bar, expanded dining seating, a more robust menu and much more!”

The daily hours at The Cedar Table will be:

BREAKFAST     6:30 – 10:30 a.m.

LUNCH            11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

CLOSED           2:00 – 3:00 p.m.

DINNER           4:30 – 7:00 p.m.

Patrons are asked to park in the West/#3 Parking Lot and enter at the West Entrance/#3 or Entrance #4 (located off of the Northwest Pavilion).  See Mercer Health's campus map for details.

Deb Hemmelgarn, MED Foundation Director at Mercer Health, concludes, “We are so grateful to all the donors to the Building on a Promise campaign, which supported the West Wing Expansion.  The generosity of the donors, such as VJ and Marilyn Westerheide of Coldwater who provided the donation for The Cedar Table, helped secure the future of quality healthcare services to our community.”
