Position:              Human Resources Assistant

Shift:                     Primarily 8:30a-5p, but will be flexible to meet the needs of the organization

Status:              Full-Time, 10 shifts per biweekly pay period

 

Reporting to the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Assistant will perform clerical and administrative tasks and services to support effective and efficient operations of the organization’s HR department.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of general office support duties including making copies, answering and directing incoming calls, maintaining calendar of activities, meetings, and various events, processes incoming and outgoing mail, and orders office supplies.
  • Maintains accurate and up-to-date personnel files, records, and documentation.
  • Coordinates and presents new hire general orientation on a rotating basis.
  • Answers frequently asked questions from applicants and employees relative to standard policies, benefits, and hiring processes.
  • Performs periodic audits of HR files and records to ensure that all required documents are collected and filed appropriately.
  • Assists with the planning and execution of special events such as benefits enrollment, organization-wide meetings, employee recognition events, holiday parties, and retirement celebrations.
  • Other related duties as required.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School graduate or GED required, two years of college-level course work in business or personnel management or closely-related field is preferred.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in all Microsoft applications.
  • Knowledge of basic human resources functions and procedures.
  • Problem-solving, organizational, multitasking, customer service and analytical skills required.
  • Ability to maintain the highest level of confidentiality.
  • Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn human resource information system (HRIS), and similar computer applications.
